I have this, the Responder alerts you when your alarm is sounding by sending a signal to your transmiter:

For the ultimate in GPS tracking of your car try this;

My PT is nearly impossible to steal. First, take the chip in the key into account. Then the fact that it has no handles or locks and no guts in a door, so cannot be jimmied (sp). A window can be broken but it has a VERY loud Viper alarm. For the life of my compressors, I had to install a kill switch on the air ride so I could work on it, so if I'm not in the car, the air ride is OFF and can provide no lift...car also sits low enough that it cannot roll without lifting...making it impossible to move without me and my knowledge or at least without my mouthing off.

I'm afraid you're wrong. My doors cannot be jimmied because it is impossible. The doors have NO GUTS. There is nothing to jimmy. Stick ANYTHING between door and window and it doesn't matter how good you are or how long you try...you won't catch a thing. That's an advantage of shaving the handles and locks. "Beg to differ" if you want, but seeing there is nothing to jimmy, and that I and many others have tried and ALL failed, it cannot be jimmied. If there was a latch of some sort to catch, it'd be possible. Shave yours and remove the guts of the doors, then jimmy it with magic and you can say otherwise. Until then, stand corrected.

And as far as stealing the car...no, someone cannot steal it. You'd have to be DAMN good to physically lift the car off the ground and CARRY it away. Without me, it cannot lift. Without lifting, it cannot roll. Without rolling, it cannot be driven or towed. Without being driven or towed, it can only be stolen if CARRIED away.

Pay attention before begging to differ next time.

I have the best security coverage.

$0 deductible comprehensive insurance with replacement coverage, trip interruption, and rental car.

Go ahead, steal it.
I'll get a new one.

Alarms are only annoying. For my cost of theft coverage, it would take several years to justify the cost of an alarm.

I love the deal where if there's agreement, it equals knowledge but if there's not, the person is stupid and doesn't know what they're doing. Oh well...another topic for another place and another time. These boards don't need that kind of crap.

i think the only flaming happening from PT CHIX is coming from her car....

i have a clifford alarm. i haven't gone to the lengths to protect my pt like renichms has, so i just use common sense.

as far as pt's being "high theft" cars, i'd say they arn't on the top of the list. honda's seem to be prefered.

mx-5 - yes alarms are annoying, and i'm sure the person thinking of swiping your pt thinks the same thing...

links - security devices help but they don't make your pt un-stealable. if you want some serious tips on making your pt into fort knox, i'd ask renichms.
