Default radio/ign switch problem

I did a search, didn't find this....my 03NA has a problem apparently between the ignition switch and radio, cutting out randomly(mostly when cold). You can either jiggle the key, hit the steering wheel or release and relock the tilt on the column...the radio will come back on, sometimes for good, other times it is a every other minute ritual. Anybody had this? Nothing else is affected, only the radio(all factory setup by the way).

Bob's right, or try and find the short/loose wire yourself. The dash panels come off pretty easily. Take them off and start jiggling some wires to try and find the fault ...can't hurt.

Question Re: radio/ign switch problem

My 05 convert has a CD changer in the trunk (factory). My radio was cutting out something terrible. I went to Citcuit City to have a new stereo installed rather than try to find the problem (I was leaving on a 1000 mile trip the next day). The tech went out to check it out and said the control for the CD changer was bad and he "unhooked it". That stopped my radio cutting out. Do you have a trunk mounted CD changer?

Nope. You can jiggle the key in the ignition and make it cut in/out. I am wondering about a dirty tumbler(reference a thread on here), so I'm gonna try the wd40 route first. But the only thing affected at all is the radio power.

Agree. The ignition switch - do you have a lot of junk on you keyring? That accelerates the problem.
You can try wd40, but I doubt it.
