I finished instaling Rockford Fosgate 3.5's in the dash, let me tell you those factory speakers are a joke.. The harnes is a pain, not to undo , that is the easy part. You barely have any speaker wire to work with.. So if you dont have the speakers in the dash you are better off running the wires.. But if your PT is newer than mine I dont see why the speakers arent there. My PT is the base model it had 6 speakers. So far I have installed Pioneer head unit, with Sirus , Fosgate 3.5, Fosgate 6.5in front door and waithing on the 6.5 components for the back door.. So I have almost installed a full system in a base model PT..

my 2002 has 6 speakers. I agree that it lacks highs I would order some nice after market tweets not the stock ones. By the way does anyone know who made the speakers in my car I had the Premium radio with cd and tape I change the head unit to a kenwood exalon 792 with sirius the stock speakers are good but I am going to put in some boston sl6.5 and sl80 in the rear with a 125 watt amp.

Here is an update to my dash speaker question: My 2008 had no dash speakers and NO dash speaker wiring that I could find. So, I removed the dash-pad and installed my buddies SRT-4 Neon dash speakers for now.
They dropped right in after I removed the OEM cardboard block-off plates. I soldered on some wires and ran them to the front door speak harnesses. Even with the crappy OEM dash speakers it sounds MUCH better than nothing. Now I have sound bouncing off of the windshield into my ears instead of just firing into my calfs.

That's wired! I have an 2007 model, it has a pretty respectable sound quality even when it has the single CD, am fm stereo, no MP3, no changer, but with 6 speakers, 2 in dash, and one in each door, it has a pretty good and strong bass if you compare it to a regular OEM sound system, just don't expect to shake all the neighborhood with only 4 6" speakers, but it sounds great inside the car, where you should keep the music, if you want a mobile party machine, you should look for an aftermarket sound system.
