Only 4 speakers?

Hi all - just picked up an '07 Opal Limited with single CD and factory sirius. I'm not much of a bass guy, but need the high end treble. Turning down the midrange and low on the 3 band equalizer did little - there's just no high end treble in this car. The 07 Chrysler brochure lists 6 speakers as standard but the actual factor MSRP sticker for this car only lists 4. I really don't think this vehicle came with the factory tweeters in the dash. seems kinda strange that there's only 4 even though the dash has the grills. Possibly related to the sirius? Don't want to replace the factory stereo and am thinking of just ordering the factory tweeters to install in the dash. Anybody else found this? Thanks for any replies - cheers!

I have often seen the 07's advertised at base 4 speaker system or 6 speaker premium boston acoustics. I hve the base model 07 pt cruiser and i DO NOT have the boston accoustics premium system but there are SIX speakers in the car. People will tell me otherwise but i know the tweeters are there... i can hear them. So i would have to say that no one really knows whats going on.

I bought the basest model of 07 PT Cruiser (stick shift), and I had dash tweeters with the base radio. See my post a few down in the Sound Forum and you can see a picture of the actual tweeter that's in the dash. It's a joke of a speaker, but it's there. They're paper tweeters, so they're probabably nowhere near as bright or detailed as any reasonable person would expect from a 'tweeter'.

I have a 2008 base model (automatic) that has the standard CD player and no speakers in the dash. Can anyone tell me if I remove the top of the dash I will find the factory wiring harness with the connectors that plug into the speakers? I have a pair of OEM dash speakers (from a Neon SRT) that should fit and at least give me a little bit of front sound stage.

I have the limited with premium sound and single disk. 6 speakers with two in the dash, two on the front doors and two on the rear pillars. Added the BASS on the rear shelf.

I'm still wondering if my 2008 with NO dash speakers has the existing wiring to add a set of dash speakers.........

This is the exact same question I came here to find an answer to. I have an '07 and I'm fairly certain it doesn't have any dash speakers. It would be nice if the wires are already there, so I can just drop in a set of 3.5" speakers and rock on

I doubt the harness is there. I have an 06 without the upgrade. I have 6 speakers. 2 in dash, 2 in front door and 2 in back door.. The reason I say that it is not there is because I am putting the 6x8 in the rear pillar, the speaker mount is there but there is no harness, I had to run the wires myself. not to mention I still have to put a hole in the pillar... Who knows though, pull it off and see...

I'm far from lazy, but somewhere out there someone has installed a full system on a base model or is a dealer tech that might know if the harness connections are there before I yank the dash. If I have to, I'll stop by my dealer. The parts counter guy & I have the same cars (Z06) and shoot the breeze quite a bit. I'll just have him look and see if there was a different dash harness for the base model.
