Compass and station info stay on Dashboard

Okay I am getting an aftermarket radio with the Scosche DCCR03SRB/DCCRO3SR Can-Bus Radio Wiring Harness. Has anyone installed this type of harness and does the information stay on the instrument cluster.?. Mind you I have the 06 which the info is on the bottom left. Is there anything to get this info back without have to go back to factory? That is if the harness doesn't..

it would depend on the stereo and if it has outputs for that info. but in most cases, No the station info wouldnt be on there anymore, but the compass and temp will stay there.

Okay here is something else . What is the dif between these harnesses.DCCR03SRB / DCCR03SR Wiring Harness Interface Plug for CAN Bus Vehicles and the regular 10 dollar harness..Besides the price and having to find a power sorce..

Did you use the harness where you have to run a 12v power wire?? I am going to spend the money ( 60-80) and but the Scosche kit model number CR03SR.. You will see when you look at the site. Hope that helps...
I found alitte more info Scosche’s CAN Bus for 2004-up Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicles (#DCCR03SRB) provides 12 volt switched ACC power for an aftermarket head unit, enabling the removal of a factory head unit. The DCCR03SRB also provides accessory power and the convenience of retaining your factory amplifier via data signal. The matching Scosche kit is the CR1286B and matching antenna adapter is the CRAB.

yeah i got that harness that you have to run an acc power wire. what can i say? it was free witht he deck. I ended up using the power outlet below the dash for the acc+ feed due to it being an ign hot source. downside, radio turns on when i open up the doors, lock the doors, unlock the doors. apparently that power outlet is controlled by the computer somehow...... kinda wish i woulda known about this adapter earlier, may still buy it.

I wish the stations would still show up on the dash, but as far as i can tell, that function is controlled by the smaller harness the is connected tot he back of the factory stereos. if only aftermarket stereo manufacturers would make their decks with outputs for that data, then adapters could make it compatable with the facotry harnesses, and you could retain more of those little factory functions that are kinda cool.

I am waiting on my new radio to come in, and I was going to use the harness that comes with it, and plug into the Cig lighter next to the cup holders.. Butttt the wifey said not to go cheap and just buy the good harness... Got to listen to the wife... I am just wondering what functions I will be able to retain with this harness....Just thought I would let everyone know that I just bought the antenna adaptor(CRAB),radio installation kit(CR1286B),and Scosche’s CAN Bus wire harness( CR03SR) all for $93.00 and some change.....Money well spent...[/
