Hi All!!!!
Just wanted to know where would be a good place to put a couple of amps. I just got my kenwood 792 put it and it was the easiest radio I ever put in!! I am also going to put in boston sl 6.5 componets in front and boston sl80 plates in the rear. also I am kiccking around a stealthbox in the back. But i see that there is very little space for amps. any ideas??

There is room under the drivers seat for amps. When you buy an amp just make sure you know the measurements so you will know that it will fit.

Yep. That's where I've got two amps stashed right now is under the driver's seat. Stacked arrangement. I had to shop around specifically for amps that would meet the size requirements. Have an Eclipse EA4000 4 channel and XA1000 sub amp.

Several years ago, I tried playing around with the rear speakers in my 2002 and found that it really didn't matter what I replaced them with (Pioneer to JBL), the small cavity in the rear pillars are just too small. As a result, I remove the shelf in the back, used it as a template and build a new wooden shelf with two sides coming together at the bottom (looks like a triangle from the side). I added a 12 inch sub pointed towards the back seat and two 6 X 9 on top. A small 500 W amp is fastened to the side. If I need to haul something, all wiring is on a quick disconnect and the box is removed. The sound is excellent especially the low end. The stock radio was also replaced with a JVC which really is the best "bang for the buck". My point is this; you will drive yourself crazy trying to get decent speakers in the stock cavities. A single 4x8 sheet of 5/8 plywood and some sanding and staining does the trick. I'll send you photos if you wish.

If you crossover the sub properly, a small cavity shouldn't matter much. It'll probably raise the QTS and FS so high your F3 will probably be about 200 HZ, but rear speakers aren't meant to do much but do a little rear fill and shut your rear passengers up. Most of the sound should come from the fronts and sub.

Warped,
I tried to attach a couple of photos but they are barely over the limit and cannot be attached to this posting (even in a Jpg image). If you like, I'll email them to you if you provide an address. Sorry,
