Hello. I've only had my 2003 limited Cruiser for about a month now and have been very happy with it overall. Today I had my first problem. I had one cd in the stock 6 cd changer and everything was fine when I turned off the cruiser. Upon coming back to my PT I started it up and there was a loud clicking come from the audio system. This clicking continued even after I turned the Cruiser off for about 3 minutes. I started and stopped my car several times and finally the sound went away. Anybody else experience this noise with the stock 6 cd changer system? Thanks for any info you can pass along. Randy

randy,
i'm assuming the clicking was coming from the changer, not the speakers? did you eject the magazine from the changer? was the cd a store bought cd or a burned cd?

Hey Now, Rash! The clicking seemed to be coming from the actual audio unit, though at times it also seemed to be coming out of the speakers. There is no magazine or cartridge to eject in the stock 6 cd changer. You load one cd at a time into the slot and it stores them internally. Unlike any other system I have owned where you would load the magazine/changer and then insert it into the audio system. This style makes me nervous to say the least. Will try it again today to see if it happens ever time I play a cd. The clicking was loud enough that I could hear it over the engine and at first thought something was wrong with the engine. I pulled over and popped the hood to see if I could locate the sound, but could not hear it inside the engine compartment. Thanks for the input, Randy

PS. it was a store bought cd that works fine in all my other rides and on the home unit.

randy,
i'd say cross your fingers and hope it was a fluke. no one i know has heard of anything related to something like that. and again, its hard to diagnose when you can't see/hear it yourself. [:I] sorry i couldn't be of more help.
