I'm thinking of putting 3 10" subs in the back. It looks like the Q-logic box will fit perfectly. Any thoughts?
The stock system has poor bass, and it is really hollow up front whenever the bass hits. Anyone else notice this? The mids are non-existant, even with the rear speakers helping. It like the system has nothing between 120-15,000Hz. That ditches a lot of guitar parts and vocals. Maybe its just me cause I'm a musician, but I can't wait to upgrade my '02 system.<img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle> |

As with any factory system on a sub $50,000 vehicle you will never be satisfied with the sound system. The space on the back of the PT is great for subs, with the shelf rack it even hides everything from view nicely.
I have 2-12" Phoenix Golds and 2 amps mounted on the box in the back, all neatly fit and color matched. If your deck is sub capable, you will be able to turn down the bass on the 6 factory speakers and let the subs do the work. I am happy with my overall sound, but if you want to increase the mid range, you would probably have to look at replacing some of the factory speakers with some nice 6" mids. My recommendation is to put the sub's in first and see how you like it, your 10's would provid more mid range then my 12's. Scott |
