Radio Problem

I have an interesting thing happening with my 02 cruiser. Everything is stock including the head unit and speakers. The problem is sometimes my radio just wont turn on when i start the car. The wierd part is if i turn on the lights, and dim the dash lights it works. This happens about 75% of the time i start my car. Has anyone experienced this problem or have an idea what it could be?

Haven't heard that particular problem but I do know of problems with the radio and lights and it turned out to be the wiring inside the steering wheel stalk that goes down from the steering wheel itself. All the wiring goes together and apparently can cause problems. Can't find the exact thread that was talking about it.
