2005 PT Cruiser, has AM/FM tape player.
any time I turn the volume up beyond a medium volume level - whether it is radio or cassette - the radio abruptly blanks out ocassionally. the LED display goes blank, and the sounds drops to zero (of course) with a loud clunk sound signaling the end of the line. in a second the radio comes back on and all is well - for a few minutes or maybe a few seconds. then it repeats again. it's annoying, and sometimes the clunk noise is loud enough to startle me. I read somewhere about bad clocksprings causing radio problems. but I replaced the clockspring when I recently installed the factory cruise control kit. the radio problems continue. any ideas? |

yes the radio did act up prior to replacing the clockspring, and its antics continue after replacing it...
