Default hyper grounding

Im pretty set on doing a hyper ground system in my 01 pt. Im doing it because of my sound system. I'm running a directed d2400 amp and jl 13w7. My lights dim and my amp cuts out a lot. I had a local audio shop look at it and they said it was most likely the grounds. From what i read the grounds in a pt are pretty much garbage so i want to run 4awg. Is there anything i need to know about doing this? Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks

They have kits you can buy or you can do it yourself. I ran grounding wires from the negative battery terminal to the side of the body, the side of the engine and to the computer.

I wasn't having problems before I ran the grounding wires, it was just a craze that was going around the forums, a lot of us did it. I figured it couldn't hurt.

i would just buy the kit but its like 120$ for the same wires you can get from a car audio shop. Im just gonna go get some ends and some monster 4awg wire and its good enough for less than 1/4 of the price

You need to do a daisy chain. Negative terminal to front strut, to pcm, to transmission, to head. I got my wires from an audio shop and also got gold connectors from them.

Electrically, there should be no difference, but if you run all the grounds "home" to the minus post, you'll need a longer bolt on the clamp.

Why replace? Just add more grounds. Go from - post and connect to body, engine, computer housing.

THe biggest and most effective thing I've done is to run a 6 inch 4 AWG from the negative terminal of the battery straight to the lug where the 8 AWG already existed on the chassis. Just added it and BAM, no more dimming. 700W can easily be handled by the stocker alt and wally world 26R battery. Maybe not for very LONG that loud, but it doesn't dim on me any more. Maybe later I'll do more, but that was very effective.

Would any of you mind taking and/or posting some pics of the mounting points you used as well as an overall/post-installation picture so I know what the final product should (and shouldn't) look like?

I'm considering doing this within the next couple days as I'm running a pretty decent amount of power to my amps, and on my old battery, my lights would dim quite a bit. Figured I'd avert a potential crisis and possibly reap some performance benefits (?). I've been Googling like crazy and searching over on PTCrew as well, but all I keep finding are references to "hyper grounding" but no guides on how to do so.

Thanks.
