New stereo don't look good on the dash, the plastic kit is big and diferent color, and a lot easy to steal the radio, also the broken glass is going to cost a lot more

You clearly have no clue what you're talking about. Plenty of people have installed extremely nice looking stereos into PT Cruisers, myself included. If you're talking about the plastic adapter plate, not sure if you knew this-- but they come in many different colors, black included. Black's a fairly common color-- goes with just about everything.

Stealing stereos is a very 90's type of thing. Lived on campus at USF, parked my car with a $300 headunit, a $400 GPS/nav that sat on my dash in a parking garage surrounded by college students, homeless people, drunks, and gang members for an entire year and not once did I have a problem.


Edit: Just noticed your profile says you do car audio installations. I'm sorry, but if I personally came to you and told you I was looking to play my iPod through my car stereo and also wanted an increase in loudness and you came back and recommended a Chrysler auxiliary input adapter because new stereos 'look ugly' in the PT, I'd take my business elsewhere.

Heh my unit is worth 600$ and the adapter plate and trim plate didn't fit. However its still mounted in there using the bracing supplied by the adapter. While it may be missing a few parts it looks great in there
