Default Radio doesn't "see" the cd mode anymore.

I had to remove and open up the radio to retrieve a defective disc. I've re-installed the radio, and now the modes only show "AM", "FM", and "Sirius Radio". When I turn it on, it sounds like the changer is searching for a disc for about 10 seconds (I haven't been able to install any yet). I cannot install a disc, or do anything else that has to do with the cd player. Is there a theft lockout on these radios that only applies to the cd player portion from Chrysler? If so, I can prove it's part of the original equipment. How do I get it initialized?

Before you assume wrongly, I'm quite competent in taking these apart, and reassembling them. I've already double checked all of the cables, and connectors.

This is a 6 disc changer, in a 2004 Limited.

HELP!

Believe it or not, it's working fine now. The only thing I can figure out is the changer has to organize the disc stackers to a proper location before the unit will show up in the "modes" as usable. Re-installing the CD stacking plates after removing the CD's is a very slow and exact procedure. The next morning as I was preparing to take it out again, it was working fine. I loaded all 6 Cd's, and it plays fine.

Thanks anyway.
Ron
