Not sure if there's a better forum to post this to and if there is hope the Mod's will relocate this but I'm trying to figure out how to make compatible MP3 Cd's for my 08 Cruiser.
Any advice would be appreciated. According to the manual the CD player will do MP3 Cd's but I've had no luck creating working ones yet. My first try I made a CD that was ISO/Joliet +UDF which error-ed when I tried to play it but then I later found in the manual the player doesn't like UDF. Then I tried to make one with 2 directories that was just ISO & Joliet. Sadly that one also error-ed. The bit rate on some of the songs was 192 and wondered if that might be the issue. Is there some limit as to the bit rate the MP3's need to be in or some other step I'm missing? Any help would be appreciated in this. I can of course use my Sansa via the Aux but always worry about leaving it sit in the car so cheap burned mp3 Cd's would be handy, especially since I have a ton of old RW disks. Sincere Thanks for all suggestions or guidance. Jess |

What year?
Yes, the bit-rate can make a difference with some players. Try a lower one and see, try using a different brand CD blank - I've run into a few that just won't play in all. Also, slow down the burn-rate, I know faster is not always better. I've found that to be mostly true for DVD burning, but will apply to CD's as well.

Just a stab in the dark but are you sure the radio plays MP3s? I really don't know but the manual is usually pretty generic and covers all of the radio options. It could be your radio doesn't have MP3-ability. Are there any indications on the radio itself? A lot of radios have a little MP3 symbol. There should also be some MP3 specific functions/menu options if it does.
Just a thought. |

Good point I am beginning to suspect the same. Seemed like the manual implied all versions of player did but now am wondering

After looking at adapters and such I believe I'll just swap out my radio for one that has an IPOD jack and will play MP3's.

My player actually already has an Aux plug so I have been using that to plug in my Sansa to play stuff and it works great. I just thought would be nice to not have to always carry it around or worry about leaving out in view in the car when I park or something.

The RAQ 6 disc changer is available on Ebay for $400 - $600 and should be pretty much plug and play.
