I've had my PT for under a month, and almost as soon as i got it, I took it in for an install of a alarm system and remote start. They installed the little reciever thing, (the thing with the blinking lights on it) at the top and center of the windshield, behind the rearview mirror.
After about a week, I noticed that the receiver was put up there and apparently the wires placed behind the headliner. They go from there into the plastic track along the window. Now since I've only had the car a month, damn if I can't remember what that headliner looked like BEFORE I took it to them. It looks like it may have been cut, and whatever gasket went around it removed and not replaced ![]() Can someone tell me, or show me a picture of what the area looks like on their car? I'm looking for right where the windshield meets the headliner... Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. (Its a 2008 Sunset Blvd, but I dont' think that should matter...) |

Everything should be nice and smooth.

Is there a piece of plastic or rubber that connects the headliner to the windshield, or can you slip your fingers between them?

No plastic or rubber, just a very small space that you couldn't put your finger through. About 1/8 of an inch.

Thank goodness! I thought things were going to have to get ugly with my favorite mechanics! I want to get an upgraded stereo from them as well, so I'm glad I don't have to be upset with them.
The space is pretty small, I just thought that the headliner tucked into something, or was attached to the windshield, and since it wasn't I thought something was wrong. This is the first PT Cruiser I've ever owned, and actually only my second car! Thanks for your quick reply! |

No problem. I'm always here except when I'm out in my volunteer position with the Sheriff's office.
The headliner comes right to the edge of what feels to be heavy cardboard inside and wraps around out of site at the edge which is sort of pointed, if that makes any sense.
