demon,

Gently pry out the window switch in the center of the dash. Unhook the electrical connections to the switch(s). Look inside you'll see a screw, take it out. Pull off the air-conditioning/heater controls (4 of them). Now gently go to the outside of the console and pry towards you and you'll see that the whole thing comes out in one piece leaving access to the radio.

It all comes off in one piece like this.

Duster,

That was a great write-up and I actually saw it before answering this querry but the title said "speaker" and I had forgotten you had also included about the center dash. I can edit the reply of a message but not the title.

If your deck didn't come with them, get the dash kit (plastic adapter to fit the larger hole) and the wiring harness adapter. It will make things much easier.

mopar man,

That link Duster posted is a "sticky" on the top of the "Sound and Security" part of the forum but it doesn't mention Head Unit in the title.

Good to hear. Junking the stock deck is the best first step. The factory speakers don't sound too bad really.
