yeah thats what i was thinking. i figured it would be a little distracting up there and it would be a ton of fiberglass work. im realling pushing for the radar detector, its just gona take a lot of fabrication trying to get it to fit. this is the one i was looking at, Whistler Pro-3450 Radar/Laser Detector - PRO-3450 - RitzCamera.com

Hey their Guys,
Well, I am not sure on possibly getting a ticket as if the monitor is mounted back behind a sunroof, or where it should be optimally mounted for display to your rear passengers somewhere bout mid way up your headliner where the structual support is better suited, it should be pretty tricky to see while driving so I would venture to guess you should be alright as long as you don't go and try to drive from the back seat while watching your favorite flick. ![]() The bigger thing as you probably already know is, I hope you really, really like sanding! ![]() Just the little glass work I glassed in my center bezel, and re-shot my gauge cluster, modified center bezel, and air bag to match my 4 stage House of Kolor Candy Tangerine Pearl paint. Just the center bezel alone took me a full 20 hours of sanding both by hand and machine after I reworked my audio to hold my single DIN Head Unit, and EQ in the stock location set up, to get everything really smooth for paint., and that was a quarter of what you are looking at for that big of a project. Here is a pic of my dash project. ![]() So, are you planning on making just fiberglass pod, to house the upper console, and monitor, etc, or? And are you also going to glass in the entire dash, or just the top pad, or? And are you going to do all the prep work, and have it shot, or shoot everything yourself, or? Sounds like a pretty big project! Anyways, best of luck, and if you have any questions, please let me know. Go easy, and Ill catch ya later. Candyman

Im probably just going to paint my center beezle for now then over christmas break Im gona start on puting the in dash radar detector in. I plan on using the over head console and removing the compass screen and having the radar detector go there. Im gona sand and paint it to match the dash. Im also gona fill in the sunroof controls and make them flush with it. Hopefully i can get it to work but if not Im just gona install it under the window controlls. I saw someone on here do it and it looked pretty good. I have a spoiler coming for my car this week that I have to install to so Im either gona work on painting the dash or installing the spoiler.
