Hahaha, yeah it can get a bit overwhelming.

If you want to go fiberglass, their are a few pretty good aftermarket places which do pretty cool stuff. Here is one example.

TC Customs Makes Fiberglass Subwoofer Speaker Box Enclosures

Here is my friend Bruce's ride as a good example of an MDF / Fiberglass Combo. The box is MFD, and the subs are mounted in double thick fiberglass to look like they are floating in mid air, and all back lit by a bunch of led's. pretty Cool effect.

Their is quite a bit you can still do in the refined space in back to do some cool stuff. It just takes a bit of creativity.
