Check my stereo installation out. The subwoofer is to the left and you are looking at the amps/cap box.

As an update, local car stereo place didn't have the PT model but they did have some of the other 10" Q.Custom enclosures and they sounded pretty tight to me. So I'll be going with the the Q Logic. Should get here either end of this week beginning of next. I'll post up a more in depth review and specs once everything gets here. For the money conscious the Q Logic box and 2 Sony 10" Subs plus shipping came to a hair over $300. Haven't decided on an amp yet but from the look of things it'll be going under the driver's seat.

Macster: Nice clean look ya got there. Two questions for ya though; How sturdy is the false floor you have over your amp/cap, is it able to support any weight? Have you had any problems with heat having the amp in an enclosed space like that? Oh also I wasn't able to find any price info for the JL - what was retail on it if you don't mind saying?

Thanks, thats exactly what I wanted a stealth install or else I wasn't going to do one at all

Its very sturdy, however this is "my Sunday go to meetin" car so it sees very little use except on the weekends. However I have had several pieces of luggage back there with no problems.

Have you had any problems with heat having the amp in an enclosed space like that?

I haven't had any problems with heat whatsoever. There is a lot of space under there.
Oh also I wasn't able to find any price info for the JL - what was retail on it if you don't mind saying?

500/1 $402.00, 300/4 $385.00 Stealth Box $250.00

You can buy a JL stealth box , and the amps of your choice. Then have your installer install the amps in the back like I did and build a false floor to go over the amps. You can visit the JL site and see the install instructions, the sub is easy to put in.

Thanks for the answers.

So the JL Stealthbox was $250? Not bad at all, certainly less than I was expecting. You lost me with the 500/1... stuff though. I'm curious what'd you make the platform out of?

I thought the JL sub cost around $450. Am I wrong?

Steve

That could be true, I was looking at the deposit slip for the stealth box. But if it was $450.00 it was worth it. I have plenty of bass and all, well most of all of my space in the back. I'll check on the actual price.

Do you have any pictures with the floor removed. It is an extremely nice job. Very clean. I am very impressed. I would like to try to do the same thing next year. My car has only 2,882 miles. I only drive it on Fridays and Saturdays. It sits in my garage. It will be parked for the fall and winter pretty soon.

I have a few with the insert removed, but not the floor. The floor is nothing but particle 1/2" particle board covered with cheap carpet. If you look real closely at the floor you can see a pull tab in the center. That is attached to the insert. I will post them when I get home.
