Default Stealthbox subwoofer

Does anyone have one the these stealthbox subwoofer enclosures. It is designed to fit under the rear shelf in it's lowest positiion. If you have one, how do you like it? What speakers and amp did you use?

I found it here on Ebay for $125 BUY TO NOW.

Here is their web site:

Was looking at this too...

Though I'd never heard of "Stealthboxes.com" first saw this at the Wyckoff Online Store (which uses the same picture): http://store.yahoo.com/wyckoff-chrys...rcu10subs.html woohoo! a nickel cheaper!

Might go with it even though it's shipped empty. That concealed Mopar box with the 8" sub has ya pulling off most of the driver's side interior trim panels to get it installed.

I also may look into makeing this box removealbe for the very occasional times that I need the entire cargo area. Most of the time I won't miss 6".

I figure I can buy the good speakers and an amp for around $300. I would have $450 into this box. I don't think that is too bad, do you?

Hay Beacon - hopefully we will hear back from some owners of this box.

Aye was thinking roughly the same.

The JL Audio enclosure has a single 10" sub (125watt) with no amp can't find a price on it but JL is usually on the pricey side. The Mopar is only an 8" sub w/50watt amp for around $375.

I'd say we're definately getting more bang for our buck going with the stealthbox set-up, with a good deal more flexibility to boot. I've been cruising through Crutchfield.com looking for some deals on the components and wouldn't be surprised if ya could have a bottom line cost under $450 assuming you're doing the install yourself.

Will be nice to be able to pull the box out if you need that bottom space. I haven't had to pull the seats out for carting stuff yet but it would be nice to have some support under the back deck piece for my normal cargo transport stuff. Seeing that thing bow when a little weight gets on it gave me the willies.

This will most likely be next purchase for my PT so I'll let ya know how it goes.

hmm came across another choice...

Q-Logic - 2 x 10" and this one actually sits in the bottom set of notches - made of ABS though so while it'd most likely be a perfect match for trim panel color I have no clue how a plastic enclosure would be sound-wise...

http://www.sounddomain.com/shop/item...093&vq_id=none

Anyone out there ever heard subs in a ABS enclosure?

Specs:

Model # QL-C1PTC210A01
Description: TYPE 1 DOUBLE 10" SUB ENCLOSURE, BLACK
Extended Description: Custom-fit sub enclosure fits on floor or storage rack of rear cargo area.
Features:
• ABS plastic cover and grills match your interior trim
• Spring-loaded terminal cup with 5-way binding posts
• 100% 5/8 in MDF enclosure construction
• Dado groove and miter joint design for ultimate strength
• Separate sealed chamber for each subwoofer
• 0.65 cu. ft. internal volume per sub/ 1.3 cu. ft. total vol.
• Includes woofer mounting screws, poly fill, speaker wire

There's a retailer pretty close to me, will see if they have one in stock I can give a listen too...

Beacon:

I like the looks of this one. See how it locks into the rear cargo area. I like that. Where would we put the amp? Maybe under the driver's seat??

Yep, would have to find a spot for the amp. Even so this Q-Logic is listed at $210 through SoundDomain.com (the only online retailer I've been able to find for it), I'm more than willing to find a spot for the amp and shell out $50 more to have a better fit/finish than the "stealthbox" type.

I've got the heated seats which (I think) hogs some of the space down there but it look like there'd still be enough room for an amp. Will have to break out the tape measure.

Check my stereo installation out. The subwoofer is to the left and you are looking at the amps/cap box.

macster: I'm not usre what I'm looking at. Did you cut the floor out to make room for the amps? It looks like it is flush to the floor.

Do you have the JL sub or is that the Mopar sub?

Steve

You are looking at a JL Stealth sub install and the amps are installed flush to the original floor with a false floor over top of them. Also there is a banna jack and a switch in case I want run a larger sub and box combination and yet return to the JL configuration when I need the space. The amps are a JL 500/1 and 300/4 with a cap.
