Beacon, what is the availible mounting depth for the subs? The box has enough volume to mount a pair of Fosgate HE2 12s, I was just wondering if it had the depth if the openings were enlarged for the 12s

Top mount depth was 6 1/4" approx. I'll have to go out and double-check, it'd be close but you could probably enlarge the mounting hole to accept 12's. Only problem would be the ABS lid. With the 10's you've got about 1/4" between the outside edge of the speaker and the lid so you'd either be laying the lid on top of the 12's or you'd have to cut the lid out to accomodate the increased rim size. Which would most likely be the preferred way to go as you'd have some serious vibration issues if the lid was resting directly on the rim of the 12's. I'll run out and take some more measurements and post it later.

Okay went out and took a look. I think you'd be okay as far as the cut-out. The HE2's have a cut-out of 11 1/8" (at least the ones they have at Crutchfield do ) which would only put you 15/16" wider for the cut-out on all sides. You've got a healthy inch at the least all the way around in the interior. I'm not 100% sure though that the mounting flange wouldn't go past the lower dimensions of the box but since it's 5/8" MDF you've got plenty of room to set screws.

You will definately have to trim the ABS lid though, don't think there'd be anyway around that.

HTH.

I won't be doing it until spring/summer when I get the car, but I'll try to get some pics. If I don't buy the QLogic box I will have a shop build me a clone that will accept the 12s

Default Re: Review: Q-Logic "Custom" Dual 10" Sub Enclosure

Only sharing. Feel free to look into the enclousure that fits our car perfectly, looks custom built.

I found a really sweet Fiberglass enclosure for single/dual/or triple 10/12/or 15" subwoofers, that fit perfectly in our car.

I did a big write up on the enclosures. They are under 200 bucks, and they are tuned to your specs.

It's all in here

BLOW OUT DEALS: SoundStream T5 Subwoofers & < $200 Dual/Single Fiberglass Enclosures!

It's hard to find a Dual 15" Enclosure that is tuned correctly. I looked all over the net for about a week. I tried the Atrend SPL dual 15" ported enclosure, it sounded horrible. It is tuned at 42. It sounds more like 50. I returned that quick fast.

I almost gave up. It was so hard to find a Ported enclosure, that was at least 3 cubic feet per sub, that was tuned correctly.

But check this out. I stumbled over this guy at like 4 in the morning of countless google searches.

He does FIBERGLASS ENCLOSURES. Forget that cheap MDF wood. And these look really sweet.

I got a Dual 15" with over 6.2 cubic feet of space! It looks awesome, and it sounds even better. WOW, my system just got 100x better sounding, and at least that much better looking.

This pre made enclosure fits perfectly in our PT Cruisers. They are only 36" Wide (we have 39" clearance) and they are not that long. It fits nicely, it actually looks custom made for my car.

I got a Black one, Grey is also an option. This Black Fiberglass Enclosure looks sooooo awesome with my all Black T-5 15" Subs. I didn't plan for it to look nice, just to sound nice. I bet my Subwoofer Enclosure looks better than 99% of peoples, not trying to brag; just telling you like it is.

You can see the enclosure here:

eBay My World - fgseonline

He has a regular online store too: But his ebay prices are so low. You can get a Custom Looking Sealed DUAL 15" box for less than 200. You can get a Ported dual 15" box for like 220

He also has 12" and 10" single/dual, and even triple enclosures. They are HOT. Don't waste 150 on a Pre Fab Wood box that will sound questionable at best, get this one. Trust me. It's a Beauty.

I have rapport with the owner too. You can call him at

If you mention "Chris in Jersey with the 2 dual T-5's" he will hook you up.
