Yea, but if it is only tapped into the driver's seat it should work.

If you have an aftermarket alarm you can easily tie it into your alarm. All aftermarker alarms have a circuit that turns to ground when the alarm is armed, it's what is used for a starter kill relay. Just simply wire your radio to a constant hot wire for both power wires on the radio. Run the wire that is normally the ignition switched wire through a SPDT bosch relay using the ground output from your alarm to control the relay. When you arm your alarm with radio will turn off, when you disarm your alarm the radio will come back on.

Hi, i've got a ford focus and i'm trying to do something very simpliar or the same thing. I want to have the ability to have my radio keep playing when i turn the car off until i open the doors. I'm having trouble understand how this latching relay works. For the status cahnge (volatage increase/decreases) how does it work if lets say the secondary source input is the dome lights, when you open the door they go on and it turns off the radio, but when you close the door and the light goes off again wouldn't the radio go back on? Tha ks for the help.
