Thanks Mash35231,
but I have to admit my
OEM freakiness
Right now, I have RB3 unit (it was offered as RB4 in America) with USASPEC iPod interface.
I am satisfied (the radio works fantastic and I like the sound), but not completely, and for the last month the headunit works kind of erratic: volume spontaneously jumps up and down, I can not select some navigation options and I was thinking about replacing it.
I would prefer some Chrysler solution, but I am not sure that there is one I could use, except RB1.
But: RB1 is not cheap and its navigation is useless outside USA & Canada (I live in Europe), and I am not sure about compatibility with my iPod interface.
Based on my recent Google research, upgrading to RB1 would include following expenses, approximately: RB1 unit (500$ on e-bay) + multiplexer (200$) + special data cable (40$). Last two items are needed for CD-Text and ID3 display, and it works with Mopar iPod interface. Would it work with USASPEC interface? Who knows...
So, to make long story short: I am searching for a headunit that visually fits with the rest of PT (nothing hi-tec), which has possibility of connecting, controling and charging iPod/iPhone (natively or via interface) and which has CD-Text and ID3 support.
Sorry for my lenghty post...
