Default Need help with sirius satellite radio activation

Help!!! I recently purchased a new 2010 PT Cruiser which comes with a free year of Sirius satellite radio. It's been 3 weeks and I still can't get the satellite radio to work. I was able to find the radio install code by viewing the CD which came with the (worthless) owners manual and I called the 1-800 sirius number to activate the service. According to sirius the satellite service was activated (presumably by the dealer) the day after I purchased the vehicle but I haven't been able to figure out how to navigate the radio. There are no specific instructions I can find as to which buttons to push in which sequence, etc. After several hours (yes, hours) sirius was unable to do much more that resend the signal. Now my radio will at least show SAT and channel 184 on the radio screen but there is still no way to change the channel or to control the volume (there is no sound). What am I doing wrong? I apologize for my ignorance. I didn't have any trouble on a previous vehicle I had owned (a 04 Ford Escape). The radio just seemed to automatically work. Please give me some suggestions as to what to do. I"m afraid that the dealership I purchased the vehicle from here in Omaha isn't interested in assisting me.
Thanks in advance!

You shouldnt have to do anything to activate it.The last 2 cars that I bought came with free Sirius and I didnt have to do anything. The dealer did everything before delivery. You should go back to the dealer and let them deal with it.It is listed on the window sticker as being included so they have to take care of it.

But, I believe you only get it free for a limited time. My Wife's new Focus has it for 6 months and then if I don't decide to keep it (start paying), it will no longer be activated. As the others said, it should have been activated the first time by your dealer.

The 2010's came with a year free.Or at least that is what's printed on my window sticker. That's the only reason I have it.I would not pay for that poor sound quality.

I dont think his problem is activation, its that he cant get any sound and doenst know how to "move around" when its ont he SAT. Volumen knob should be the same and channel cahnging should be the same as scanning radio station. If its still not working ( no sound is strange, even without activation the DEMO channel should have something). I would head to dealer and have them show you its working. I think you have some other issue (as in SAT not working).

No, because I when I turn the volume, when on sat, it stays at 0 and I see channel 184 but can't hear anything so I figured it was something else other than the sirius activation. I have not tried to activate it yet.

If you want to hear Sirius you need to pay for it and get it activated...and with my PT I had to get it done with their tech support on the phone.
