Modify the Center Console for 1 1/2 DIN Stereo

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone out there has modified the Center Console cover to fit a 1 1/2 DIN aftermarket stereo??? I like the pioneer DEH-P77DH 1.5 DIN which is made for Chrysler's older style opening, so I was wondering if anyone has widen the newer opening for one to fit....Thanks, Erwin
