Question RCA cable Length??

Hello everyone! I am a noob at car audio installation. I usually pay for someone to do it for me, but I want to try to do it myself this time.

I own a 2005 pt cruiser convertible touring edition. I have already ran my power line from the battery to the "trunk". Now I need help picking out a 4-channel rca cable (length and brand).

Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

Wink Re: RCA cable Length??

I used a 17 foot one; which gave me about 2-3 feet of play. That is ideal; in case you want to move your amp around.

Really; you want to match the quality of RCA's to the amp. if you have a $50 dollar amp; you probably shouldn't spend $50 on RCA's. That would be silly financially.

These are used by many
Monster Cable MPC-I304-4C-5M (mon-122020-00) 16.4 ft (5 Meters)

Since; I don't know what amp you have; and the set up you have invested into; I would say get these only if you have a pretty penny spent on your system.

If using "quad" cables' make sure your Front and Rear don't get mixed up; or your Left and Right.

Here are other more affordable options.
RCA 4 channel | Sonic Electronix Search

RCA 4 channel | Sonic Electronix Search

RCA 4 channel | Sonic Electronix Search

You might find it cheaper to buy 2 sets of dual RCA's. Those are generally cheaper; because they are used for mono amps as well as 4 channel amps. There is much more selection when looking at dual RCA's. Just get 2 sets.

Why not? My entire house is full of Monster cable, and my power station is a $2700 Monster Power Master, it controls all my audio and video gear and has protected me through numerous lightening storms, including one that recently took out my puter!

I love monster, it's all over my PT, from my amp back to my sub. Double-Braided, Double-Shielded, the Monster rep was visiting Freeman Stereo/Video where I get all my work done and he told me he'd pay for my install if I ran over his sub cable and it stopped working. Not only did I run over it, I burned out on it. Somewhere I have the photo of his shocked look and about 200' of tire marks in the parking lot. Damn thing still worked, but he paid for my install anyway! There goes $460 I didn't have to pay!

I didn't even think to list what audio equipment i have.
My audio equipment is as follows:
Head unit: JVC KD-R810
5 CH amp: Alpine MRX-V6
Front Speakers: Infinity Kappa
Rear speakers: Infinity Kappa
Battery: Oddysey 120lmjt (thks Sergeantptcruiser)
Capacitor: Stinger SPC505

I would like a quality cable without paying hundreds of dollars.

Im on a phone posting since im 'shopping' otherwise id go on for many reasons why to buy something else other than monster.

For prices paid for interconnects and speaker cables, their performance was mediocre compared to cables costing far less. Measured countless times on an oscilliscope they show greater ground noise levels as well as uneven response throughout the audible frequency range. Talk to any real audiophile, theyll say the same. Damn touchscreen typing.

That's funny Xwing, cause I personally run MIT Shotgun S3 interconnects between my components at home (retail 599.99 each 1m pair).

It's not all about gauges either, people overlook the fact that not all metals are of the same purity. You'll see 2 pairs of silver interconnects. 1m pair at 100 bucks (99.9% pure) whereas the other pair is over 1,000 bucks (99.99% pure).

If some of you remember my floor, you'll see this is indeed my stuff -

And few other pieces of gear I recently sold -

You'll see my old Magnepan speakers in the background -

My extremely rare Moscode Hybrid BEFORE it was completely modified -

After the modification, which costs +$2grand itself -

The NOS tubes in my tube amps/preamps cost more than what most people here pay for their timing belt/water pump replacement (if you want to stick to costs).

I wasn't talking about equipment but wire. Research actual studys instead of hype. But if your wanting to spend the most money just because...then go ahead as long as your happy to.

That's what I meant/was talking about.

Good/quality stuff will come at a price, but there's a point where the law of diminishing returns really just comes into play and where one should draw the line.

The caliber of some of the equipment I run/used to run and own was at the point where one can swap in a pair of $100 audioquest interconnects, $600 MIT interconnects, and $4000 Tara Labs interconnects and be able to tell the difference following proper procedures on what to listen to and how to listen for it.

We got a guy on Carver/PolkAudio forums that just got a paper published a few months ago on A/B testing. He's also published several papers for NASA and often writes long documented reviews on pieces of gear (including cables).
