If you still have your stock head unit, it may or may not play burned cds. i have the same prob with my 07. but if you're burning an mp3 cd, it's not gonna play unless your unit says it plays them. what you need to do is convert it to a cd format. which it's just a normal cd burning process. What kind of burning software do you have beside itunes and wmp? do you have roxio, that's what i use.

I would try 2 things.

Uninstall the programs; try again.

Also install Winamp. It's free; and works well to burn CDs. I prefer that program.

If still it doesn't work

Save any important files; and uninstall windows; then re-load it with the CD's that came with the computer.

If still you can't get it to burn.

There is something wrong with your hardware. You probably need a new laser.

If you have to go to all that; I wouldn't pay for a computer repair shop.

Just switch to MP3's via an IPOD. Get a head unit that plays Ipod. It will be cheaper, and will catch you up to 2011 technology.

I wouldn't invest in CD's. CD's are almost dead.

Get an Ipod playing Headunit of nothing above works.

another simple fix(?) would be to make sure that the CD that you're using is specificly for "music", then when you're creating your "burn list" in wmp make sure you go in to options and tell it to create an "audio disc" it'll make a difference...

when you create an audio disc, you're converting the files to audio format (which is the format of CDs). I believe the default setting is for a "data or DVD" disc, this'll create a disc full of MP3 files (which allows you to put over a hundred songs on one disc)

hope you get it figured out

Do not buy the "music" CDs, they are for some stand alone recorders and cost more because you are paying for a license from the music industry. If you are burning from a computer there is no need to pay extra for the "music" cd. Any good quality CD should work. Also do not try RWs as they require a different laser in the player and a lot of car audio players cannot read them.
