I have this cheap CrimeStopper alarm;
the RKE was just switched; and it was plug and play. I am not sure bout the Viper though NEW Crimestopper CS-870.RKE Remote Keyless Entry Unit | eBay |

Most of the wires are there, yes it is possible.
the new viper alarm needs to have a horn output don't use the siren wire also the kill ignition wire ( orange) with the relay needs to be wire into the ignition harness and the sensor 508d needs to be mount into the frame metal or any part that is flat and hard, not near the brain power ground door signal hood pin trunk pin switch dome lights parking lights they are all in the rke module harnnes also led signal good luck
