Default door speakers

hey there,

I just purchased a 2004 cruiser. For reasons i can not understand, and unable to find answers, my door speakers do not work. as far as i can tell there are not damaged in any way. Thanks for any answers, ive been working on this problem for a while.

Well, It might be the speakers.

If not; it's the connection from the speakers to the source (Head Unit)

The Headunit will have 2 rectangular shaped Wire Harness Inputs.

I would suspect if the speakers themselves are ok; the Harness that connects the speakers to the headunit is loose behind the head unit.

I am taking a picture of my stock head unit for another member; I will include the picture of the harness input for you tonight..

A few simple questions. Are you sure you have the fader/balance adjusted so they will play? Try dis-connecting the battery and the harness on the back of the radio then re- plug the harness into the radio and lastly hookup battery again. These cars are weird on stuff that re-connecting the battery can cure.

Lastly, to make sure the speakers are good, touch a AA battery to the speaker wire and see if you hear a pop (this won't hurt them either as i do it all the time on home theater setups)

If the above doesnt work, sound like the radio is bad on the front channels. You can pickup a factory radio cheap as most upgrade IE:eBay, craigslist, chrysler forums and of course here
