I cant decide what sub set up I want to go with. Everybody has 10s and 12s so at first I thought about doing one vented 15" sub that way I would still have some room in the hatch. Now though, I thinking of going back to 10s. I had a set in my S-10 and my Civic HB and they hit hard averaging around 140. Db. I want to be able to play diffrent types of music but also be able to turn up the subs and have it hit hard and still me able to remove it if needed. I am adding a gain control of some sort also.

How about a single 9 1/2 on a quick release system that removes in about 30 seconds, shelf and all. Powered by a Clarion 200W Amp under the driver front seat.

Check out low profile subs. I have a 10" low profile q power 800 watts with a mtx 1500 and let me tell you it sounds very clean. And all it took off my trunk in 4 inches of the side. I love it. One low profile is all ypu need. Very clean sound and very little space.

My set up is simple.I have one monsterous (but budget friendly) 1500 watt amp (capable of your basic 4,2 and even 1 ohms).
The trick to my set up is my subwoofers. I have 2 subs. My main is the powerhouse listed in my sig below. But I also have what I call the traveling sub, serge can help you find a good "travelling sub". That sub is a fairly inexpensive sub that can mount in a small 25 buck sub box. So I almost always have the big sub in the car butIf I need the trunk for anything, its as simple as unhooking the speaker wires and switching the boxes. My subs are wires inside the box for what they are (1 ohm for the big sub, 4 for the small) so really you just unplug the wires from one sub and plug into another!

Another HUGE misconception. Many say; 1 15 is louder than 2 10's, or whatever. All of that is a half-life. The Really Matters is RMS watts. 1 10" subwoofer can be much more powerful that even 3 15" subwoofers. If space is your concern, get a powerful 10" subwoofer. Don't sweat it; they are not expensive. - This subwoofer is 800 RMS; and costs only $73 - $100 It's a really good brand too! Pioneer 10" Champion Series Pro Subwoofer Pioneer TS-W2502D2 | eBay So that is 800 RMS for a single 10". --- Now if you get entry level subwoofers; which most people unfortunately buy; it would take 4 of these to equal 1 of those 10" Pioneers. ![]() Rockford Fosgate Punch P1S815 15" Single 8 ohm Subwoofer 15" Punch Series Stage 1 Subwoofer Power Handling: Peak: 400 watts RMS: 200 watts The Pioneer Peak: 3000 Watts RMS - 800 watts You would need 4 of these 15" to equal 1 10". So you can still get HUGE bass in a small space. Don't compare all 12"s vs all 15"s Also don't compare brands. Each brand usually has several lines. I always here, Which is better, Rockford or Kicker? Rockford has about 10 lines of subwoofers. So does kickers. So you can't compare the brands; you can only compare Model vs. Model. Apples to Apples. -- Get 1 10" and blow your friends out the water!! Dill has the 12" version of this subwoofer. His is 1,000 RMS. This one is 800 RMS. Trust me; Dill will tell you............................. Last edited by SergeantPtCruiser; 19 Jun 2011 at 04:13 pm. |
