Default Will a 1/2 din EQ fit?

Here is a question, the stock radio din is 1.5. So if my new radio is 1.0 din and the dash kit has a 1.0 din for the radio and has a .5 din storage, can I remove the storage and insert a EQ?

Hey boss; just curious; what new radio do you have?

I know of .5 din's like this one:

Clarion EQS746

It's a 7 band EQ. But you can honestly get a 8 band eq built in to the head unit already.

I don't know if you already bought your new head unit yet; but this would save you money;

Fast forward to 50 seconds into this video; it will show you

It is always a good sign when we come to the exact same brand and model #. The Head unit I will be posting my install when everything gets here, so it will be a surprise. The information that you provided me was used, just did not come to the same out come, or head unit. Pioneer is a great brand, but to get everything that I wanted I would have spent at least triple. The 2v vs 4v always sat in the back of my mind, which the EQ was suggested to me when I was able to play with a demo of the radio I ended up with. Not to mention I got a 4 yr warranty on it. So event though I ended up with a different radio, you were still a part of me deciding which unit I bought. So thanks and don't stop talking to me because of my choice.

Hey;

Glad to help; even if it was just part of your decision making, the info still helped.

Can't wait till you get in installed, and some pics posted.

Enjoy that bad boy!

Peace

Hey Guys,

Sorry I'm a bit late to this post but wanted to throw my 2 cents in for what its worth.

I can say with confidence that the Clarion EQ above will actually fit directly under a 1 DIN Head Unit in a pre 2005 PT dash. It takes a bit of work to do it, but it will fit, and then you can still save the lower slot for other electronic toys. Mines got my DVD there.

Anywayz here's a pic.
