Default How To NOT Tear Up My PT. Have Questions.

Ok I am hoping that next weekend that I will be installing my new head unit. Now I have not seen too many installs from start to finish...

1 - is there anything I need to watch out for when I take apart the dash, what is the easiest way to do this.

2 - on the 2008 the rear speakers are in the rear doors, whereas my 2001 had speakers in the rear pillars, is there still mounting points if I wanted to put speakers there?

3 - anything else i need to watch for?

Thanks!

Often overlooked are the 2 screws behind the vents. There at the bottom portion and you may need to rotate then and use a light to see them. Once these are out, use your hands and pop the bezel out.

Yes the opening are still there but you would have to change out a lot of the plastic covers to make them work (i think all of the rear plastic to get everything to line up)

Depending on the kit you got, some mount over the radio after its installed, some mount first then the radio, so check fit before screwing everything up. Also make sure you have an antenna adapter as the factory antenna wont plug into aftermarket radios.

I have had my wifes 06' tore apart from front to back:
