After spending 90 bajillion dollars on other audio component installation, I want to be thrifty (read: cheap) and install some 5x7 upgrades in the back. What I can't seem to gather is which speaker harness I need to do this for my 2005 model PT.
I THINK that I have narrowed it down to two Metra products: Metra Part # 72-6514 | Chrysler wire harness | Dodge wire harness | Metra Online or this: Metra Part # 72-6512 | Chrysler wire harness | Metra Online Does anyone happen to know? Many thanks in advance... |

I am not familiar with the 2005 head unit; but usually head units have 1 wire harness for everything.
Usually 14 or so wires that connect in a plug shape from the car's wiring system; to the head unit. There will be wires like: Grounds Remotes Powers Front Left Speaker Front Right Speaker Rear Left Speaker Rear Right speakers. ![]() Chrysler Dodge Mitsubishi Jeep Wire Harness CWH-638 | eBay --- Don't leave us to dry; it's the sound forum; if you spend gazillion dollars on equipment; what did you get? I speak for many; we are curious. ![]() ![]() Last edited by SergeantPtCruiser; 08 Jul 2011 at 05:29 pm. |

Thank you for the replies. I found the correct harness for the rear speakers.
I bought an Alpine head unit that has iPod/iPhone control and a built in Sirius tuner, and new 6.5 component speakers. I lack the ability to do this stuff myself so I paid for professional installation. |
