Which is the better option in your opinion?
The 8 inch mopar sub thing that goes in the back hatch in the pocket area Or the underseat subwoofer setup The underseat costs alot more. Does just having one, either the mopar one or the underseat one sound odd just coming from one side? Would want this to hook up to my stock stereo Thanks |

I've heard good things about the mopar sub and the stealth box. But haven't heard much for under seat subs. So I cant comment on the second.
Base frequencies are also hard to localize but I cant speak for if you would get a directional feel from it. |

I have the Mopar Sub and I like it, and for the price, you can't beat it !

I agree with the above postings. I have the mopar sub and I like it. But you are not going to get huge Boom-Boom.
I elected to put another 'bin' under my driver's seat. The Sergeant will tell you, you need more bass. |

I like the underseat but they are pricey! Especially getting two!

The underseat is nice, but having a drawer (or two) I like better since they have a ton of room.
The cargo 8" I really like, but I also use that spot. I set up my sub box similar to others I have seen. Basically its a big box, but I only need to remove two wires and how it is harnessed in to remove it. Everything else is remote mounted under the drivers seat. But I guess having a hidden one would be more practical, I just don't want to give up my subs ![]()

mopar sucks!!!!!!!!! its 80 watts. that is no where near enough. you need at least 250-500 RMS watts (not max) at a bare min. |

YOU NEED MORE BASS. It's a fact. ![]() Just please, listen to me; when you drive; you will have a smile on your face. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I am not saying you get this EARTHQUAKE subwoofer. but 80 watts is a literal joke. ![]() There is a post I made about 1,000 RMS subwoofers for under $70 bucks. ![]() Look into one of them. |

Busa, it sounds as though you already have been thinking about this for a while. It also seems as though you are leaning toward the compactness an 8" woofer provides. There are a lot of 8s that are known for handling lots of power and providing plenty of "boom". Digital designs (DD), Sundown Audio, and DC are a few of these. Of course, the larger companies (Rockford,Alpine, JL, etc) make 8s as well. The reason I mention these other subs is- if you are any handy at all, research and find a sub you like. Then build a box to suit your needs. You could even get a Mopar setup, remove the sub and amp from it and reinforce it to accomodate a better speaker. If you are after the sub not taking up much space then an 8 is a great way to go.
As for the Mopar sub "sucking"- I, and most people that have owned or heard one will disagree. It takes up none of the cargo area, the mesh grill looks great and is a great improvement over no bass. Lots of people that are more performance oriented opt for it because it is lighter weight than a large enclosure. If you listen to a lot of rap/ hip-hop style music with a lot of low bass, it is probably not the right choice for you. I would suggest finding someone with a mopar sub and listening to it. They are quite popular so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding someone with one. especially if you can make it out to a cruiser show or meet. |
