'Factory Alarm'????

[8D], I was wanting an alarm installed on the 03 PT I'm trying to get, and was wanting a quote from the dealer while they are adding up everything. And was told, it'd be 5-600 installed, and it'd have to be ordered. I told 'em I'll think about it and let 'em know. It has "2" TWO, I MEAN TWO!! Factory theft systems already on the vehicle and the dealer wanted how much to put it on....Stew

yeah,i was offered the same thing,although it never reached to the point of price,i just refused it...i thought of eventually doing my own(until they scared me by telling me that if it wasn't installed by the dealer,my electrical system warranty would be voided)
so now i'm just planning on doing the gear shifter lock,which i heard is very good...
but i did hear of premier alarm system by clifford which automakers allow for installation without voiding any warranties..but it also runs for about 600 big ones..
