Default Sensitive alarm

I have a 2005 PT 2.4 litre touring cruiser. The problem is an over sensitive alarm. I live on a busy road and parking is just off it. Seems the alarm is triggered when certain vehicles pass by. this tends to happen about 5:30 am when traffic stars to build in the morning, annoying my neighbours to no end. It doesn't matter if I use the key or the remote to lock it the alarm is always sent unless I leave it unlocked.. Loud stereos set it off which leads me to believe it's a resonance problem. My question is...can the sensitivity be changed, does this require a dealer to fix or can it be dealt with by an independent alarm company. I no longer trust dealers as they are always suggesting unnecessary work at extortionate prices. Any ideas out there?

Are you in the UK?
Seen numerous posts there about this, but don't recall a cure....
You might try the UK PT Forum:

I've never heard of a sensitive alarm that's built in the PT from the factory in the U.S. Do you have an after market system? Does it have instructions that came with it?

Ditto what Crewzin and Don have said/asked above. You can jump up and down on my back bumper and not set off my factory alarm.
