Ya know, all this stuff adds alot of weight decreasing performance. Are we going for sound quality or maximum pressue and decibles?

Just curious. Thanks
Some want sound quality, some want speed... to each his own!

yeh yeh IR Low an Slow [8] thats me LOL.

Hey and i just found the best place to stash my lil 5 band EQ. right inside the drop down panel under the steering column, it fits in there perfectly. Once it's set I really dont need to mess with it anyway, so it's outta sight and out of the way. I figured that one out because someone before me had installed some wire with what look like a pc laptop connection on em and just left em hangin out of that panel so i finally had to remove the damn things.

So nice working on wiring in this car, the panels are so easy to remove and replace

IRPT, there is a balance to be had within that range somewhere. As far as SPL goes, as well as how LOUD it can go,those parameters really mean very little to me. What I look for in a system, is one where the speakers match the acoustic properties of the interior as much as possible. As far as amp wattage, the number of watts supplied means very little to me, as well. When I look at amps, I look for an amp that will drive the speakers that I have chosen to the sweet spot at the listening level that I like. Can the system get LOUD, yes it can, but I never drive the amp to clipping.
Do I like my music loud? The answer is yes, sometimes but I listen to all kinds of music and some content doesn't lend itself to loud. Anyway, I hate to an amp an amp clip. It sounds like fingernails on the blackboard to me. Before I built my Audio system in the cruiser, I researched the front ends, amps and speakers carefully. I must have looked at hundreds sets of speakers, amps, and head units. I don't dislike systems built to rattle windows, Its just not me, and to each his/her own. I like to go fast too, but I feel that the weight invested in the sub woofer box and amps for the system to be worth the price in weight/horsepower ratio. I do like to crank up Kid Rocks "Cocky" till its loud, but I don't rattle the windows with it. I don't even know if my system CAN rattle the windows......

to coin a phrase FWIWM2C
