I figured my first post should be where I will spend all my time. The audio section.


Here's the basics.

2001 PT Cruiser Limited Edition with 70k miles.

Pioneer Premier DEH-800PRS
2 Sundown Audio SAZ-2000's
1 Sundown Audio SAX-100.4
1 Digital Designs 9518Z
3 Deka G31's
100'+ of Knu KCA 1/0

It started with the PT

Next logical step was the radio.




At this point I had no idea what I was doing for the substage. All I had were my 2000's. A friend of mine called me with the offer to buy his BNIB DD 9518Z for an amazing price. So I jumped on it.
















So I knew what was going in there. Just had to power it.



Made my 1/0 order and rings.

This is all the wire I had at the time.

Then it was time to install.















At this point batteries and all wiring was in. Just needed to build box and install amps.

We left the house at 4:30 headed to my friends house in Biloxi, MS to build. I've showed a few of his videos here. He has the Digital Designs 160db 4 15"s F-150.

Once the box was done I had to build an amp rack to hold the amps in front the batteries.

Well, I've always hated messy wiring, I know, I'm like the king of it. But it drives me crazy. So tonight. A friend and I decided to fix my issue.

We started with this not to shabby. But could be better.




Then went in order of these photos.

Took everything out. Old amp rack. Batteries. All of it.



Started work on amp rack/ battery box.



Built it nice and strong.





Putting it in. Nice fit.



Wiring it all up.



Mounting amps up.





All done.

Quick update. Got a battery from my friend for free pretty much. Lol. All I did was give him a few feet of 1/0 and installed his SAZ-3000.

So, now 5 batteries in battery box. And its all full!

Dude....DUDE... OKAY, at 50 years old it takes a lot to get me all excited, but after reading this and watching your vid, I need to go change my pants! Great Googly Moogly, dude, this is JUST SICK! Really well done, great craftsmanship in those boxes, but now you gotta show us the finished product, that is when it's finished.

Wow. Great and seriously solid components and one of my favorite head units. Can't wait to see this when you have it all dressed up. So did you get any calls from the USGS NEIC after testing it? I would have assumed like a 9.4 on the Richter scale.

Welcome to the Forum.
Gotta give mad props on your build thus far, and way too cool mad skills.

Now just let me slam it on a nice set of 20", spend a little quality time alone in the spray booth, and she will be looking just a bit more proper for sure.
