Default Rear speaker replacement

Where can I find the wire connection piece you can get to hook up aftermarket speakers to the existing wires without voiding the warranty? With stores would carry this item? I have tried Radio Shack, Circuit City, and Best Buy, none of them had what I was looking for.

Im also looking for different speakers and have search these same stores and none of them carry a 3-way setup speaker. Polk audio will not sell them to me from there site.

Can someone help?

KingKole02,

I don't know if an adapter exists. But if you decide to cut it off like I did then the link below is the wire diagram that tells you what is positive and negative.

All of my speakers are Boston Acustics. Got them at Sound Advice, no problem. Paid more by buying them there and installing them there, but it does come with a warranty. My son bought his stuff elsewhere and had them install it for acourse a modest fee but again it comes with a warranty.

You can order pretty much all that you mentioned from http://www.crutchfield.com or just do some searches with bizrate.com and epinions.com if you want to try and find a deal.

Beacon is right, I have replaced all 6 speakers. When purchased from Crutchfield, they supply the OEM speaker plug adapter for the speakers purchased. It's a plug & play. They also offer many speakers to replace the rear speakers. Any of the 6X8 speakers will fit, theres plenty of depth in the pillar. I used the Pioneer 4 way coaxial speakers. I am very happy with the sound of the system, and crutchfield is a very good company to deal with. I have experienced excellent customer service too.....

KingKole02, there's some good info here: http://www.ptdoityourself.net/ptrearspk.html

If you buy your spearkers from Crutchfields they supply the adapter.

Thanks to all,
I will have to try Crutchfield and I already have the Ptdiy.net diagram and the install instructions.

Thanks again,
