Default Crutchfield

Crutchfield, is great. They send you all the hook ups you need, instalation guides and offer insulation with an order of speakers.

I bought some Pioneer 4-way speakers for the fronts and backs. So far I have gotten to install the backs and have put Dyno mat extreme behind the speakers. Not only do the new speakers sound better and have more bass but the vibration is gone.

Instalation was easy, just hook up the wires, tape for good hold and install. [?]

Agree with you there. Crutchfield is great. They are more expensive than alot but their service is "5" star. Service is the name of the game, you may get my once but you won't get me twice. And if your sevice stinks I'll let everyone I know, know about it. I wish they were closer and that they had a Chyrsler service department.

Well you know, right now they happen to have free shipping on everything over 199.

You price break down what I bought, speakers and deck. The deck alone cost 220+ at popular stores I got it for 249 with the wire harnesses, the covertor cables, and the mounting pieces. The speakers I bought here cost 100-120 for each pair, there 4-ways, In stores the closes things I could find where 3-ways for 150 a pair with out the wire harnesses or dyno mat.

I think the prices on Crutchfield were pretty good, includes all the necessary equipment for the install through them without any other running around looking.

Total I spend 125 for a pair of speakers, extreme dyno mat for those speakers and the wire harnesses.

I think thats a good deal.

Bigdogdad, when I get the deck installed, I will have to tell you so if you want to see it, you could stop by if your in the area.

dynamat is expensive, how much did they charge ya for it? for future reference Rammat is pretty close to dynamat and way less expensive. Also, brown bread, and theres always "ice guard" from home depot. problem with that is you can only buy it in bulk rolls of like 225 ft.

Jax,
I got 10"x10" pieces two boxes 10 bucks a sheet. Yeah it is expensive but I really needed it. From my stock speakers it would vibrate. Well no bad vibrations anymore. Its the extreme dymo with the silver outside.

This dyno stuff is great. Expensive but great. I did the doors last night. The plastic in side the door had some vibration in it, so I tore some of the black sticky back from the silver and stuck it on there. It also help to put back that black plasitc piece in the door below the hole for the wiring, I knock it loose when I installed my mirrors.

Front speakers were awesome, triple the size of the stock magnets, no more sounding like there taking to much power, or any distortion. Now I can play music with the stock decks bass on +8 and volume at 20 with no bad sounding speaker. The 4-ways super tweets with the deck treble at 0 sound as good as the stocks tweeters with the deck treble on +4.

I have some dyno mat left over because the PT's door panel screws get in the way. So I can use this left over insulation to stop any further vibrations I find.

From their website:
Dynamat is a thin, flexible, easy to cut and mold sheet that actually stops noise causing resonance and vibration, by using visco-elastic qualities that promote vibro-acoustic energy conversion. In short, that means noise becomes silent energy.

Way to go IRPT, I just know how to use it, not how it actually works.

It is very easy to cut, but makes what you use to cut it get sticky.

It works well with screws, once applied the screws pick up some of the elastic material, while screwing them in, and they fill in the space and dont allow the screw to vibrate against the metal to provide a tight fitting screw location.
