Default What Speakers?

Hey everyone, im new to posting and i forgot my pw for the last few months since i registered so i remembered it and here i am.

I just want to know what speakers you all have used in all locations.

I'm doing the whole system head unit and all 6 speakers. I dont really know what is good or bad so any help would be good.

I plan on putting in a couple of 10" subs in the future but would like good all around sound for now.

Thanks for any advice.

right now i have 4" coaxial polk audios in the former dash tweeter location. kicker cvr 12" dual voice coil subs, and still working with the stock speakers in the doors. I'm going to change the midbass in the doors to Vifa's, maybe build a custom center console and enclose a 6-8" sub firing down toward the floor. I'm also working on adding a small center channel to the dash for my surround sound

I'm thinking about adding horns under the dash and swapping the door mids to custom kick panels in order to equalize the sound path lengths.....mmmm, decisions, decisions.

anyway, good speakers...Moral, Vifa, boston acoustic, Mb Quart, polk audio if your looking for really good sound quality
you can find vifa, and moral at www.partsexpress.com
also take a look at www.thezeb.com

JaxPT,

If you find a way, let me know how you fit a set of horns in the PT. I have a set of Veritas aluminum horns with the comp titanium drivers (66 VD's) that are DYING to be used... I am thinking that the Image Dynamics minihorns are the only solution.

CruiserDan welcome,
I using
Pioneer TS-A1780R 4-way 6-3/4" door speakers
http://ptcw.truckmoxie.com/visit.asp...o&i=130TSA1780
&
Pioneer TS-A6880R 4-way 6"x8" pillar speakers
http://ptcw.truckmoxie.com/visit.asp...o&i=130TSA6880

+ a Pioneer head unit- which I have yet to install.
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-qTKmkit...&cc =01&avf=Y

All the speakers have Dynomat behind them and the fronts are surrounded in Dyno with the mounting brackets on. I feel the speaker have more clarity and sound then the stocks. The bass is a big difference too, as I shakes all the mirrors with just +6 bass on stock deck and volume at 18-20. Clarity is a change that has no distortion when the volume is raised with clear highs.

I have found that insulation is needed directly after the change. The stock speakers have no vibration sound but the new ones provide more power and require the Dynomat. The magnets are double the size in the back and triple the size in the front. Signaficant weight difference in both speaker compared to stock.

I went with Pioneer because they had 4-way speakers and thats what I was looking for. I didn't want a really high end speaker that would require and amp to push them. I feel this speaker with a little work with insulation works well with any deck or setup and are a nice upgrade from the stock speakers.

I did not change the dash speakers, because I have heard they are hard to access.
