The manufacturing in the sound system I originally thought to be good. Knowing how my factory deck and speakers worked well together.

Then as I upped some of the power with the factory setup I began to notice some minor vibrations in the passenger side rear. With only the factory deck at +6 on the bass the back speaker has a very hard sounding of bass and not a long tone but a short, b-a-on-t, sound. I wasn’t happy with having it set to +2 in the front and bass out +5 to lesson the vibration sound.

That’s when this all started.
Began with rear speakers, after I had installed them, I wasn't satisfied with the bass quality. Some members mention that it sounded like the factory sub option, if so, then that sub must be garbage.

Then I got the front door speakers. I decided that I did not want to push the factory deck at +8 on the bass all the time. Like most of any equipment you push it to the max all the time and it begins to wear down. The front speakers really didn't sound much better bass wise but were better everything else wise. 4-way is the way to go. Crisp high that ill make you ears ring.

So I figured I would finish what I had started, and get a deck. The deck I chose was based on the speakers I had purchased. I wanted it to match with them. I chose I deck that I could expand if I wanted to and yet still have it simple, plus it had to have some cool options too. This deck has a lot of music options to chose from and play with. Plus you add tiles to your CD's, cool.

So now I’m done, but will I be done for good. Only time will tell.

Every time I get in and drive, I listen to some type of music, mostly CD's, radio has to much down time for commercials. I listen to the sound the music creates and if its not to my liking then I have to make it better or stop what is wrong.

Yes I may have taken this vibration thing way too seriously, but why settle for almost perfect when you can get perfect. That’s why I have spent counts less hours, about three days total, testing and listening to the sound for vibrations or distortion. I have a stock system (I call it that) without a sub. That you can hear a car in front or next to with my windows up (bass). I have had people turn and look with my windows down. It also shakes the mirrors most of the time too, which I will find a way to lesson. I believe I got good quality out of what I wanted.

I don't know about keeping the mirrors from not shaken'. Mind do that also. The mirrors are electric so if you stuff it with stuff you won't be able to adjust them to well. My seats do some shaken' too but I don't mind it at all. Bad back, feels real good. I am going to have to put some insulation around the back ones though. Little bit too much vibration going on. Could be just the mounting screws coming loose. I'll have to look into that this weekend.

bigdogdad,
Your 04 turbo (its a 04 turbo right? I couldn't remember) should have some glue junk behind the rear speaker and is a little hard to take out without using a flat head. Yes your right the rear need some insulation but it may not be behind the rear speaker but may need to be behind those panels and the rear seat belt trim pieces.

As far at the mirrors, I dont know if you visted me when I had the M3 style mirrors or not on yet. But I have M3 style mirrors. They aren't exactly as high quality as the stock mirrors, also aren't power . I was going to try to put insulation (dyno mat is thin) between the mirror houseing and the mirror pillar frame area. I was going to try to afix it to the mirror it self and not the frame.

I remember the stock mirrors shaking too. I never mined it since my old car did the same. But from stock speakers? They weren't stock.

I would say they needed to engineer that better in this car. To much vibration problems due to not enough insulation.
