alarm install

has anyone done their own alarm install? how hard is it? any advice on a good alarm with the paging system?

Alarms are only as good as the install. I worked as an installer before joining the military. For a first time install, practice on someone elses junker, so you can figure out the tricks and what works and what doesn't. The instructions that come with alarms don't do much because every car is different. The biggest thing is to make the alarm installation look stock. I just ordered a GT Cruiser so I'll be doing an install on that one sometime in the future, I would recommend finding someone to help you thats done it before though to make sure you have a good install.

I too have an 02 Steel Blue base model and have installed an alarm system. I used the factory add-on system. You can do it yourself and it still carries the standard factory warranty. It comes under two part numbers and ordered from "www.kollerdodgeparts.com" has a significant discount. Part number 82203763 MODULE ($149.50) and part number 82206015 MODULE (wiring) ($31.05). Complete directions are included. Make sure you also get or have the 02 shop manual. It's handy for other things as well. Koller's real live person number is 1-630-355-3411 and Keith Johnson is a real nice person to talk with! Parts have to be ordered on-line to receive discount.
