Question 1st gen - tablet mount?

I'm thinking I'd like to hook a tablet up to the stock stereo (Aux input) so as to be able to play back my FLAC collection (can't find a head unit anywhere that can play them...)

And I figure if I'm going to bring in a device to play tunes, might as well have GPS/NAV as well. So it would be handy to mount somewhere - well, 'handy'...

Anybody here already doing something like this?

In a perfect world, the device could be quickly unplugged and removed, (keeping the tablet essentially portable) but the mount would stay firmly mounted - the cords can just dangle. Of course, in a perfect world, the mount wouldn't require drilling too many extra holes in my stock dash...

I'm pondering a 5 to 7 inch Android tablet (since iPhones don't seem to have a FLAC player...)

there are many FLAC player apps for iphone.

this one looks very nice IMO and it is FREE:

if you don't have an iphone 5 with iOS 7, you might look at the tutorial here instead:

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab with a car dock. The dock has a suction cup to stick it the the glass or other flat surface. I just fit the suction cup into the cup holder and have the Tab sitting almost flat facing up. It works pretty well this way when using navigation, with a quick glance you can see the map and you can still hear the voice yelling at you for when to turn...

I usually use this in my work truck and have the dock mounted on the lower part of the dash.

It is meant for the original Tab but I use it with the Tab 2.0 Samsung Galaxy Tab Vehicle Mount [ECS-V980BEGSTA]: Computers & Accessories
