Default Mopa Subwoofer Soundin' GOOD

I'm really amazed how much the Mopar subwoofer completes the sound of the OEM sound system in my 2001 PT. It is clear as a bell and the amount of bass is perfect.

Any sound system might sound good with the car sitting still and playing a CD or mp3. But here is a recording made with my Android cell phone while driving down a winding road and listening to a radio station. What a great clear sound. It almost sounds like an over-dumb, but this is really what it sounds like in my car while driving. The stereo is not turned up that loud either.

And if you have good speakers hooked up to your PC, you will definitely hear the bass coming through.

Try it now. Are you still using that TRS80 Model 3 to surf the web?

I am sure it sounds great but it hits 100% and + 1-2 VU and distorts, Sorry!

The sub is very good! I purchased one off ebay several years ago, very easy to install to the factory stereo! But to complete my stereo system upgrade, I recently purchased (2) sets of MOPAR upgraded door speakers off ebay to replace the OEM ones, which are pretty low grade (plastic frame, tiny magnet-see pics below). The new speakers are a direct replacement, same mounting holes and plug right into the factory wiring without any modifications, and they really compliment the sub, wish I had replaced them years ago!

No distortion in the car and just a little on the recording due to the cell phone. But I've got 400 watt speakers and a mixing board attached to my PC, so it sounds like a concert on my end.

PS: Now posted on your forum as requested.

The mopar subwoofer is crap

I replaced it with a kicker speaker

Maybe it plays church hymnals good, but for any decent music it sucks

Nitro took my advice and bought a kicker too

me? I just decided to do something totally different. That mopar sub wouldn't have done the job for me lol

(btw its not completely done yet. This was a pic after finishing the build and threw the amps in to see how it sounded. new amps are on the way along with some new knukonceptz purple power and blue ground. Im a colorful person )

if some remember my old post about a wall, I had originally planned to do 16 8" subwoofers but I changed it to the 6 10's because I still needed my back seat. its all built behind the backseats so the car can still be a family mobile.

ps. not trying to thread jack you op
