stock 6 speaker x-overs

I noticed in some of the posts that the rear speakers are referred to as "midranges" and the door speakers as "woofers". Other than the bass blockers on the tweeters, are there any additional filters wired into the system? Is there a filter between the door and rear speakers or are both full range? My rear speakers have little or no bass reproduction, and weak highs. If they are filtered for midrange only (500-3000hz?) that would explain it. As a full range speaker they suck. Has anyone tried adding filters to the stock system, or are the premium speakers not worth the effort. BLH1

There are no filters. The rear and door speakers run full range.
The lack of rear bass is due to the extremely small volume behind the speakers. They have no cabinet to resonate.

It also does not help with any other frequency the the speakers are angled downward and essentially fire into the backs of the seat and the tray. I have found removing the rear Headrests helps a bit but if you have anyone other than children in the back that is not a good idea.

I replaced mine with 4 ways speakers rated up to 150 watts. They sound match better then the stocks. The bass you don't notice to much other then the interior light shakes and the rear view mirror vibrates enough to see it with certain bass tunes at volume twenty. It did this also before I change out my deck.
