Default More Pic's

Hey everybody, you might have seen some of my posts I'm toying with idea's of differnt ways to get best sound. I've had some good suggestions. I see a lot of list of MOD's to systems but not to many pic's of finish product especially say mod to the front speakers. Maybe like me not everyone knows how to post pic's.
Someone said I could go with 61/2 in the front, do you need to mess with outside pannel cut or do anything to make it work? Looks like their only 31/2 inther now judging from size of cover. Also the back anyone know the max speaker size in the back column with out cutting? That would really help. Sorry don't mean to be a pain. Also does anyone know how much Amp is put out on OEM stero. Still trying to decide wheather to go with the Woo or a amp + high end speakers. This is interesting stuff. Just want to learn as much as I can from your experiances. I really appericate your responses.
Mahalo,

The front doors can hold 6.5" speaker. The Front dash has 3.5" speakers, but it is a tweeter in there. I replace my doors and dash with a 6.5" comp. set which is 6.5" Midbass woofer and a 1" dome tweeter. I cut a piece of wood to fit the area so I can mount my tweeter. I had to cut nothing all looks factory. You do have to buy a mounting plate or make one for the doors. It is an over-sized 6.5" speaker even a 7" will fit.

For the rear it is a 5x7. There is now conversion unless you feel like making something. I am using 5x7 coax Alpine.

The stock radio does not put out much power maybe 7 to 8 watts per ch. I changed my radio before I changed the speakers and it made a huge difference right away. You don't need an amp unless you are going to hook up a sub and have a major system. I suggest get a good Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood, or even Sony Radio and replacement speakers and you should OK unless you are looking for something bigger. YOu can always ad to this later also.

Thanks SwtNwPt,
Now that makes seanse to me. I'm not looking for a major system just a clean one with good sound. I like that you can install 61/2 in the front I'll do that, now I just have to figure how to take off that pannel how hard it that? The the back pannel comes off easy.
I found a Sony head set on etronic.com put's out 52 watt's $214 not bad, so I'll skip the amp. Now I have a Idea of what to shop for.
I like the sound of this rout.
Question thou,The install on the head unit did yours come with a face place that covers size differance? All the MOD's head units seem smaller in size. How did that go, any tricks I might run across?
Thanks your thoughts and helping me figure this out.

For the head unit you will need to buy a mounting kit which will convert the hole from a din and a half to just a din size unit. They cost like $20. You also need the wiring harness also. They cost like $10 - $15. They also make speaker ones to I just used "T" taps. It is not the best way but I had them laying around and it worked out fine.

The front doors are a little trick but not to bad. Unscrew ALL the screws. There is one by the handle, 2 on the button edge and 1 on the outer edge. There are 2 more right under the handle that needs a large hex to undo. Also take off the cover by the mirror. Once you take the cover off by the mirror which just snaps off, grab a slid your hand down the edge and pull, keep slidding and pulling. Once you get all the saps left and it should come right off. There is a wiring harness for your doors and windows on the panel undo this and there is a little pin for the handle arm. Be very careful with this piece since it is very soft pastic it brakes easy. Just pull the arm up and you should be cool or I just leave it and slip the panel out of my way a little. There is enough room to work without removing it. You should be able to handle the rest from this point.

The kits and stuff you should be able to get form etronic's. If they don't have them try your local car audio shop or best buy, pep boys or any please like theses.

About the back speaker most 5x7's will fit 6x8 wholes since they line up the same. Depends on the 6x8 it will fit in some 5x7 holes as well. The speakers are 5x7's. I have purchased 4 different kind of speakers for the rear to see what sounded the best and they were all 5x7's.
