Default Stereo Backlight Partially Out

I have the RAQ 6-disc stereo in my '06 Touring Edition. A section of the backlight (when the headlights are on) behind the SEEK MUTE SCAN buttons is out. Is this something that I can repair or send the stereo out to some repair center and have it done? Thanks.

Lightbulb Re: Stereo Backlight Partially Out

If your handy with soldering electronics, you can probably DIY......There are several small bulbs in the head unit, all soldered to the circuitboard, you'll need to de-solder the old/blow bulb, and replace with an equivalent bulb;I'm not sure if yours is an LED or 'grain-of-wheat' bulb though).

Thanks for the reply. I figured it was soldered onto a board. I found a local stereo shop that can do the repair with a one day turn around time. I may just have them replace all the bulbs because with my luck, I reinstall it and another one will go out, then have to take it back to the shop and pay their bench fee again. I had another shop wanting me to upgrade my stereo and sell me some other brand. There are probably lots of models available but this one works just fine. I've got an MP3 adaptor to it as well. This is not the original stereo to my vehicle as it was replaced about 3 years ago under my extended warranty, so repaired, it should last me a long time yet.
