I like the sound of the 850 and 650 according to the features. Gotta have the remote start though.

HI Lightyears,
This is a bit different than your alarm concerns, but I was told years ago to keep a small camera in the glove compartment so that I would be prepared to take a picture of anything I thought was tampered with or damaged in or on my car. Of course, this would be most beneficial in an accident (especially when your car has to be moved before police arrive.) or a hit and run.
Someone tried to break into my Bonneville several years ago, however, this was not obvious to me but was very obvious to the mechanic who took the door apart.
I'm sure someone here is a lawyer, perhaps, who could verify or deny this.

I mentioned earlier on tne sakigt thread about her powder coated rims and explained that my son has Motegi gunmetal rims on his 2000 Civic si. He lives in Henderson(Vegas). Lived in a very nice gated apartment complex, was there about three months and his car got broken into and torn to pieces. They ripped the dash to pieces got all his stuff, head unit(Alpine mp3 player, his amp, his subs, pretty much trashed it. They obviously tried to take the entire car becaus his steering column was broken too. Guess What he had on it, you guess it, the Viper 850 with everything on it that comes on it. When he went out that morning to go to work he knew it was bad before he got very close because his wheels were turned. It was in the body shop for about 4 to 5 weeks. Lots of electrical work. Not to mention the trashed alarm that was laying on the floor of the car in pieces parts. One bad thing is that the thieves probably had all kinds of time and know one would notice because his windows are tinted very dark. Well after a lot of weeks trying to get back to some sort of normal function. He got to drive it for FIVE DAys!, and came out to go to work and it was up on milk crates, rims and tires gone!!! This was just too much to deal with. He told the apartment office that he would be moving out as soon as possible, they said OK with no crap about the lease or anything else, he was free to do whatever, whenever he was ready. He and a friend from work and a friend of his went together to rent a house with a garage where his car would be safer. We have since helped him replace all of his stereo stuff, amp, subs, and head unit, and even the alarm with even more goodies, we hope that his car is safer at least. But of course the best anyone can do to prevent this kind of thing is to make as much noise as possible, and make the theives take longer than they want to be there. He had very loud, horns with battery back up and some other stuff I can't remember at the moment.
So, in the end your car, anyones car is not totally safe. We too have an alarm, our car is in the garage, and hopefully sort of safe I hope. In the end make a lot of noise and slow them down and pray. The insurance company paid for all repairs and rims and tires, everything but the stereo stuff. He's a happy camper again.
