Default Rear hatch problem...

I have had a 10" 300W audiobahn sub in a Q logic box for about three months now. It sits in the back facing the rear door. Last week I noticed that the outside of the hatch is dented. There are several circular dents all over the back. I have narrowed it down to either the sub or someone actually kicking the back of my PT. Has anyone had a problem like this while using a sub? There is no damage on the inside of the hatch. Any help or advice would be gladly appreciated.

Dents would indicate pressure from the outside (some jackasses feet) whereas bulges would be from the inside (your box rolling around...after it smashed it's way through the interior trim of course). Somebody's been beating on your car mate.

CHROMEDCRUISER,

Just like Beacon said, someone's been hitting your PT. IF your sub box were hitting your rear hatch, the plastic interior panel on the inside of the hatch would have be decimated by now. No interior damage = exterior idiot.

Thanks guys. There is a little bit of both actually, there are some dents, and a couple of bulges, but like I said, no damage to the inside of the car. Guess I'll be taking a trip to the body shop.

Video tape your cruisers rear before going to the body shop for documentation and maybe catch the criminal. Place video camera in area that can see the rear of the PT, plug into wall for extended power, maybe hook into VCR for video tape up to 12 hours. Try it, you might find something out.

Good idea, but I have one little problem. I live in an oncampus college dorm, and the parking is about a hundred meters from the nearest outlet. I may wind up video recording the car from the interior.
